Tom Hughes has considerable experience in technology as an engineer, involved in engineering design and management, serving in the roles of COO, CFO, CEO and Chairman of a number of successful public companies, mostly in the telecoms market. Tom is also chairman of Virtual Access, a Dublin, Ireland based Telecoms Company.
Tom is chief executive officer and is also responsible for finance and administration and related services.
Dr. Leroy D. Mell, JR., PHD, MBA, HCLD (ABB) CDR MSC USN (RET), Laboratory Director
Dr. Mell has held several positions in a variety of laboratories, which include Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, Bostwick Laboratories, Anne Arundel Medical Center, PathLab / LabCorp, Hagerstown Medical Labs, Holmes Regional Medical Center and the Naval Medical Research Institute.
Dr. Mell’s education includes: a Ph.D. Degree in Electro-Analytical and Clinical Chemistry; a Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Clinical Pharmacology at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences; a Master’s in Business Administration; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, with minors in Mathematics and Physics.
He is currently licensed and certified with: American Board of Bio analysis, CLIA Certified High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director, State of Florida; National Laboratory Certification Program, SAMSHA Laboratory Inspector; College of American Pathologists, CAP Inspector for Forensic Urine Drug Testing and Athletic Drug Testing Laboratories; Certified Breath Alcohol Technician and Trainer by DOT; and State of New York Certificate of Qualification in Clinical Chemistry, Endocrinology and Oncology-Sera and Soluble Tumor Markers.
Professional affiliations include active memberships with the American Association for Clinical Chemists (AACC) and the Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA), and he has been a lecturer for both of these organizations as well as the Florida State Society for Medical Technology.
Dr. Paul Toren, Ph.D., Chief Scientist
Dr. Toren is responsible for scientific strategy and development at Integra Lab Solutions; Dr. Toren received his Ph.D. in Analytical Medicinal Chemistry from Purdue University and has extensive experience in the application of mass spectrometry for medical and biological applications. Dr. Toren worked for Monsanto Co. in their Corporate Research Laboratory, followed by bio-analytical/drug metabolism positions with Marion Merrell Dow (Hoechst Marion Roussel) and Quintiles. Dr. Toren has served in a number of leadership and management roles with XenoTech, the University of Kansas Cancer Center (bio-analysis), PRA International (project management) and Xenometrics (dose formulation analysis).
Lindsey began her career in forensic science as a Criminalist for the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and transitioned into lab operations at the Clinical Pathology Laboratory at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. She later became Director of Laboratory Services for Community Healthcare Network, where she oversaw the laboratory operations of twelve federally qualified health centers, accountable for the delivery of measurable quality care outcomes for the underserved communities of New York City. Lindsey’s cross-field experience in forensics and healthcare allows her to close the gap between the understanding of toxicology afforded by forensics and its application to clinical and diagnostic testing in the healthcare industry.
Ms. Sangillo educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Forensic Toxicology from the renowned John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. She is currently enrolled in the MS to Ph.D. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences program at Rutgers University. Her professional affiliation and certifications include a New York Clinical Laboratory Technologist license. Membership of the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Scientists, the Clinical Laboratory Management Association, and the American Chemical Society.
Joseph F. Coscia, Jr. Ph. D. Laboratory Supervisor
Dr. Coscia is currently Integra Lab Solutions’ Laboratory Supervisor. He has over thirty years’ experience in high complexity clinical laboratory management in positions of CEO, Director, and Educator of medical students, graduate students and laboratory personnel at all levels. He held Director’s licenses in CT, NY and PA in all disciplines. He is currently a FL licensed director in clinical chemistry and hematology (DI33667). He is a graduate of Tufts University and the University of Rochester. He was a post-doctoral Fellow in Clinical Microbiology at the University Of Rochester Medical Center. His credentials include management positions with Quest Diagnostics Inc., Diamond Shamrock Health Sciences, Yale University School of Medicine and 15 years as owner and director of two high-complexity laboratories in CT.
